A compact, very bright bar with a motion sensor that XDA calls a good default pick for most people. But its touch controls are fiddlier than a separate dial, it can take a few tries to position, and motion sensing was hit-or-miss in testing.
Top complaints
- Touch controls on the bar
XDA lists 'touch controls are still worse than a standalone controller' as a con; there is no remote dial, unlike the ScreenBar Plus and Halo.
Source: XDA Developers review - Fiddly placement; clamp can slip
XDA says it may take a few tries to find the right spot on your monitor, and the lightweight clamp may slip or slide over time.
Source: XDA Developers review - Motion sensing hit-or-miss; value debated
XDA found automatic on/off was inconsistent at times, though Amazon's review summary says owners like the motion detection. Amazon's summary says opinions on value for money are mixed.
What owners love
- Very bright, wide coverage
Rated over 1,000 lux at the center of an area up to 115 x 60 cm (about 300 lux at the edges); XDA calls it more than bright enough with great coverage.
Source: XDA Developers review - Small clamp that won't block a webcam
XDA likes the compact clamp and says its smaller lip won't block an all-in-one computer's webcam. It fits monitors 0.17-2.56 in thick and curved panels from 1000R to 1800R.
Source: XDA Developers review - No glare on the screen
Amazon's review summary says owners appreciate its glare-free light that doesn't reflect onto screens, plus auto-brightness and color temperature settings.
