Amazon's mega-seller, and owners love its easy, voluminous blowouts. But Wirecutter testers found it loud and very hot without drying hair well, and the big barrel is awkward on short hair.

Top complaints

  • Gets very hot

Amazon owners note it gets very hot during use. Wirecutter says it started smoking as soon as it touched one tester's wet hair.

  • Loud, struggles to fully dry, leaves frizz

Wirecutter testers found it especially loud and said it got hair very hot but not very dry, leaving frizz and flyaways.

  • Barrel too bulky for short hair

Wirecutter found the 2.8-inch barrel too bulky for chin-length hair or shorter. Revlon's own listing pitches it for mid-length to long hair.
