CNET's best 1080p projector: some of the most accurate color it has measured, good contrast, a long-life LED and rare lens shift for the price. It's only average in brightness (985 lumens), it isn't 4K, and there's no built-in streaming at all.
Top complaints
- Only average brightness
CNET measured 985 lumens in Living Room mode and calls brightness 'rather average', its most disappointing trait. The 1,794-lumen Bright mode looks visibly green. For a 150-inch screen, CNET says the Epson 2350 is the better choice.
Source: CNET review - No streaming, 1080p only
CNET lists no internet connection, so you'll need a streaming stick. It accepts 4K but downconverts to 1080p, and CNET calls it 'a little pricey for 1080p'. Its built-in speakers are fine for a projector, but CNET says none of them sound particularly good.
Source: CNET review, CNET best projectors - Some early failures reported
Amazon's summary says some owners report it lasting over a year while others report failure (described as the bulb) in under 100 hours. The HT2060 uses LEDs, so these reviews may be pooled with the older lamp-based model.
What owners love
- Excellent, lifelike color
CNET calls it one of the most accurate projectors it has measured, with richer, more realistic color than the HT2050A and the Epson 2350. Amazon shoppers praise accurate color out of the box.
- Contrast that beats brighter rivals
CNET measured 1,320:1 (1,380:1 in its roundup table) vs 348:1 for the Epson 2350 and says it has a more cinema-quality image.
Source: CNET review, CNET best projectors - Quiet, flexible, no lamp to replace
1.3x zoom and +10% vertical lens shift, rare at this price; the LED should last about 14 years at four hours a night (CNET). Amazon owners note quiet running and easy ceiling mounting.
