The cheapest way to get a motorized pan-and-tilt camera that follows you, at a $99 list price. PCMag rates it Editors' Choice for its bright 1080p image and strong low-light results. But the gimbal is slower than pricier models, Wirecutter found its color skewed green until fixed in software, and Amazon owners call the software janky.

Top complaints

  • Color and contrast need tweaking

Wirecutter found the image more contrasty than its top pick and skewed slightly green, though software adjustments mostly fixed it.

  • Janky software and connection issues

Amazon's summary says owners criticize the software as janky and hard to operate, and some report connection issues. PCMag notes the AI retouch effects can look uncanny and use a lot of processing power.

  • Slower gimbal, no voice control

PCMag found it pauses before reacting and pivots less quickly than the Tiny 2, and lists the missing voice controls as a con.

What owners love

  • Gimbal tracking for about $100

PCMag says it offers the same mechanical pan and tilt as the $329 Tiny 2 at a third of the price. Amazon owners say the tracking follows them perfectly while streaming.

  • Bright, sharp 1080p and good low light

PCMag saw no noise in good light and a face almost as clear in monitor-only light, though the background gets grainy.

  • Lots of features for the price

PCMag highlights the many framing modes and multi-camera control in Obsbot Center. Amazon owners like the up-to-100 fps mode and gesture zoom.

Good for
  • Auto-tracking on a budget
  • Teaching or demos where you move around
  • Dim rooms (strong low-light results per PCMag)

What experts say

  • PCMag: 4.5, Editors' Choice, best 1080p webcam. The cons are a slightly slow gimbal and no voice controls.
  • Wirecutter (NYT): Worth considering if you want gimbal tracking on a smaller budget, but the picture is less attractive than its top pick's and needed software correction.
