Good Housekeeping's best overall, with hot-water washing, wet/dry separation and edge-to-edge cleaning. But it weighs about 13.6 lb, Tom's Guide found the self-propulsion pushy, the battery lasting only about 15 minutes in heat mode, and the app hard to connect, and it's useless on carpet.

Top complaints

  • Battery drains fast in heat mode

Tom's Guide got about 50 minutes against a 72-minute claim, and only about 15 minutes in heat mode (rated 20). Amazon owners give mixed battery feedback, with some saying it falls short.

  • Heavy, with pushy self-propulsion

Good Housekeeping's only con is its 13.6-lb weight. Tom's Guide (13.7 lb) says it gets heavy with a full tank, the wheels can run away, and pulling it back is hard, like walking an excited puppy.

  • App won't connect; poor on carpet

Tom's Guide spent two hours failing to connect it to Wi-Fi and says this seems to be a common issue. It also found the suction mode picks up almost nothing on anything beyond very short carpet.

What owners love

  • Handles wet and dry messes

Good Housekeeping says it handled dry debris and wet spills such as wine and cereal with ease. Tom's Guide says the 185°F heated wash left tiles sparkling without streaks and that dry pickup on hard floors was effortless.

  • Reaches edges and under cabinets

Good Housekeeping says its edge-to-edge design reaches corners and baseboards well. Amazon owners praise its edge cleaning and low clearance under cabinets.

  • Cleaner upkeep

Good Housekeeping says it separates dry debris from liquid in the dirty tank and cleans its brush roll in the base. Tom's Guide notes a one-button self-clean, a deodorizer in the dirty tank, and a spare roller and filter in the box.

Good for
  • Tough hard-floor grime (185°F hot-water wash)
  • Pet and mud messes on tile
  • Easier tank emptying (wet and dry kept apart)
