Techlicious found it streak-free with excellent suction, but it must stay plugged in, is loud (68-73 dB in tests), and won't fit mullioned or curved windows. CHOICE adds that the cleaning fluid makes it costly to run.

Top complaints

  • Tied to an outlet

Techlicious says it must stay plugged in, and the 15.4-foot cord sometimes needed an extension cord; the review title calls it 'held back by its cord'.

  • Limited window fit

Techlicious says it won't work on mullioned windows, decals or curved glass, and lever handles stopped it reaching under them. CHOICE lists minimum glass thickness and frame-height requirements and says you need windows that suit it.

  • Loud, with ongoing fluid costs

CHOICE measured about 73 dBA, around a stick vacuum, and found the fluid ran out after about 30 minutes against a one-hour rating. Techlicious measured about 68 dB. A Techlicious reader reported streaks on every window within a month.

What owners love

  • Streak-free on grime

Techlicious says it cleaned grime, bird droppings and bug remains and left 'not a single streak behind'. CHOICE found only small, faint patches left after a deep clean.

  • Excellent suction with backups

Techlicious praises its excellent suction adhesion and a 4.9-foot safety tether. CHOICE notes a backup battery for power cuts and stresses clipping the tether when cleaning outside.

  • Good voice guidance

CHOICE found its voice-guided setup generally very good, and Techlicious likes its automatic spraying.

Good for
  • Second-story windows near an outlet
  • Streak-free results on grimy glass
  • A lower price than the Omni models

Scores (tap for why)

Why 4.0?Streak-free per Techlicious and near-complete per CHOICE; one reader reports streaks.
  • Edges & corners3.0
Why 3.0?CHOICE says it cleaned all accessible areas, but Techlicious found it couldn't reach under lever handles and is too big for mullioned panes.
  • Grip & safety4.0
Why 4.0?Excellent suction adhesion (Techlicious), plus a safety tether and backup battery (CHOICE).
  • Setup & noise2.5
Why 2.5?Must stay plugged in, 68-73 dB in tests, and the fluid runs out quickly, though voice prompts help.

What experts say

  • Techlicious: 3.5/5 (2023-07-31, $399.99): an excellent, streak-free cleaner held back by its cord; it should be standard equipment for homes with second-story windows.
  • CHOICE (Australia): It works well (updated 2024-03-01), but isn't cheap, has significant ongoing costs, and you need windows that suit it.
