CNET's best electric scooter overall: dual motors, suspension, turn signals, self-healing tires and an app that can lock the wheels. At 46 lb it's heavy for a commuter, it doesn't fold small enough for some train seats, and Tom's Guide found the latch needs a jiggle.

Real-world range: Claimed 20-30 miles. Tom's Guide rode about 8 mostly flat miles at around 20 mph and used 28% of the battery.

Weight: 46 lb (Tom's Guide, CNET)

Recalls (CPSC): No CPSC recall found for the Apollo Go. Apollo has had two other scooter recalls: Phantom V1/V2/60V (2023-08-31, CPSC 23-270) and City Model Year 2024 (2025-07-24, CPSC 25-402).

Top complaints

  • Heavy for a commuter

Tom's Guide's reviewer prefers commuter scooters under 30 lb; the Go weighs 46 lb and doesn't fold compactly enough for many train seats.

  • Finicky folding latch

Tom's Guide says the latch that holds the handlebars to the deck sometimes needs a jiggle to release.

  • Slow acceleration out of the box

Tom's Guide found it slow to accelerate at first, though acceleration and braking can be adjusted in the app. Turning could be a little tighter.

What owners love

  • Smooth ride

Tom's Guide calls it one of the best scooters it has used for comfort, thanks to the Airflow suspension.

  • Premium build

Tom's Guide calls the build quality impeccable, with IP66 water resistance, 360-degree lighting and self-healing PunctureGuard tires.

  • Feature-rich app and controls

The app can lock the wheels, log rides and tune acceleration, braking and cruise control. CNET highlights handlebar turn signals and a Quad Lock phone mount.

Good for
  • First-time riders who want a smooth ride
  • Tuning acceleration and braking in an app

What experts say

  • CNET: Best electric scooter overall (list last updated December 2025): dual 350W motors, suspension, a stylish design and a compact size at a reasonable price.
  • Tom's Guide (Apollo Go review): Review: a reliable all-rounder and great for beginners, but heavier than the reviewer likes for commuting and the fold can be finicky.
