TechRadar's best overall pick, with a big height range, a 440 lb capacity and a 15-year frame warranty for less than most rivals. But WIRED found wobble at full height, a cheap-feeling controller and a whiny motor, and Wirecutter disliked other E7 versions.
Top complaints
- Wobble at full extension
WIRED says the desk can get wobbly when fully extended. Wirecutter found the regular E7 very wobbly at its top height (a different version from the E7 Pro). TechRadar found the E7 Pro very stable.
Source: WIRED, Wirecutter (NYT) - High-pitched whine, cheap-feeling controller
WIRED says the control unit feels a bit cheap and the desk emits a high-pitched whine. Wirecutter testers found the related E7 Pro Plus keypad cheap-looking and its motor marginally louder.
Source: WIRED, Wirecutter (NYT) - Shallow base top, heavy, short desktop warranty
WIRED notes the entry-level desktop is only 23 inches deep and that larger power adapters were hard to fit in the cable tray. TechRadar lists the heft of the wood-texture top as a con. FlexiSpot's own page shows only a 2-year warranty on chipboard and wood-texture tops.
What owners love
- Wide height range and big capacity
It adjusts from 25 to 50.6 in (frame only) and lifts 440 lb; TechRadar's 6'1" reviewer stood without slouching.
Source: TechRadar review, FlexiSpot official page - Easy build with pre-drilled holes
TechRadar assembled it in about 35 minutes; the pre-drilled desktop made alignment easy, and the controller is simple to use.
Source: TechRadar review - Cable management included and good value
TechRadar likes the included cable tray, magnetic cable sheath and power strip. WIRED says it is cheaper than many rivals even fully configured.

What experts say
- TechRadar: Best standing desk overall (5 stars, Editor's Choice): quiet, sturdy, with an impressive height range; the cons are a heavy top and a premium price.
- WIRED: A perfectly decent desk at a lower price, but the base desktop is shallow, the controller feels cheap, it whines, and it can wobble when fully extended.
- Wirecutter (NYT): Did not test the E7 Pro itself; it dismissed the regular E7 as very wobbly at top height and the E7 Pro Plus for a cheap-looking keypad.
