Very small sample (26 ratings), with the 2-star row at 0%. A second listing (B0G1SCVHQ7) shows the same 26-rating histogram, so the listings are pooled.

An all-metal, magnetic desk with the best built-in cable management and good stability at height. It's expensive, very heavy, only has a 5-year warranty, and its metal top can't take screw-in accessories.

Top complaints

  • Expensive with a short warranty

TechRadar lists the price as its main con. Wirecutter says it costs about $100 more than the Uplift V3 for a similar size, with only 2 years on the control panel and box and 5 years on everything else.

  • Metal top: no screws, scratches, not for everyone

TechRadar notes you can't screw accessories into the metal top. WIRED says it is prone to scratches without a desk mat, and some Wirecutter testers were turned off by the magnetic metal top.

  • Very heavy; first unit had faulty anti-collision

WIRED found moving it painful (152 lb for the Pro). Wirecutter's first unit didn't respond to obstructions; Secretlab quickly replaced it.

What owners love

  • Best-in-class cable management

Wirecutter's pick for cable management: a built-in trench, a power supply in the leg and magnetic accessories.

  • Sturdy at height

Wirecutter found it sturdier at its tallest height than the Uplift V3; TechRadar calls it stable and durable.

  • Good for tall users

It reaches 49.2 in; TechRadar's 6'2" reviewer had no height issues.

Good for
  • Gamers and cable-tidy perfectionists
  • Taller users
  • Multi-monitor setups

Scores (tap for why)

  • Stability4.5
Why 4.5?Sturdier than the Uplift V3 at max height (Wirecutter); stable per TechRadar.
  • Height range4.0
Why 4.0?25.6-49.2 in: good for tall users, but about 3 in higher at minimum than the Uplift V3 (Wirecutter).
  • Easy assembly3.5
Why 3.5?TechRadar calls assembly straightforward, with legs bolting to a pre-mounted plate, but the boxes are massive and the desk weighs 125-152 lb.
  • Durability & warranty3.5
Why 3.5?High-quality steel build (TechRadar), but the warranty is only 2-5 years and the top scratches without a mat.

What experts say

  • TechRadar: Best for gamers: stable, modular and well built; cons are the price, power routing only on the left leg, and no screw-in accessories.
  • Wirecutter (NYT): Worth considering for the best cable management and sturdier than the Uplift at height, but pricier, only in two large sizes, and with a weaker warranty.
  • WIRED: Best cable management; the only dislike after a year of use is its weight.
