Top complaints

Insta360 Link 2 Pro

  • Expensive

Wirecutter says at a typical $250 it's probably overkill unless you need top picture and audio. Tom's Guide lists 'a little expensive' and notes it costs $100 more than the Link 2 with the same zoom, resolution and focus system.

  • Feels fragile, and it sits tall

Wirecutter says it feels more fragile than other webcams it tested and doesn't recommend it for travel. The gimbal also puts the lens higher above the screen, so you can look like you're glancing away.

  • Some owners report glitches and slow adjustments

Amazon's summary says some owners report it doesn't work without issues, notes very slow adjustments, and mentions compatibility problems such as with TikTok Studio. Tom's Guide also wanted better zoom than the 4x carried over from the Link 2.

Insta360 Link 2C

  • Mic is just okay

Tom's Guide says the voice comes through clearly but sounds a bit tinny and compressed, and recommends an external mic.

  • Low light needs software tweaks

Tom's Guide says out of the box it is disappointing in the dark, with lots of noise. Turning on HDR and adjusting exposure in the app helps a lot.

  • Software issues and value doubts for some owners

Amazon's summary says the software gets mixed reviews, with some owners reporting software issues, and some don't think it's good value.

Who should pick which

Pick the Insta360 Link 2 Pro if

  • People who live in video meetings and want to look and sound their best

  • Presenters who move around or use a whiteboard or desk view

  • Dim rooms

Skip it if: You travel with your webcam (Wirecutter says it feels fragile); You only take calls at your desk (it's overkill); You're on a budget (the Link 2C or Brio 505 cost far less)

Pick the Insta360 Link 2C if

  • Sharp 4K on a mid budget

  • Showing products to the camera (fast True Focus)

  • Laptop users who travel (small, solid build)

Skip it if: You rely on the webcam's mic; You won't install the app (low light needs HDR); You want a motorized camera that follows you around
